Can cops chat on AIM in their car computers? - car chat
I saw a police officer parked in double rows in the middle yesterday in a commercial area very active and I thought I saw a window on your computer for instant messaging. He smiled, and I noticed that something was wrong with the phone, and there was nobody with him in the car .. was written, with one hand.

No, they have their own little network and connected to all other devices and can IM each other through it.
We have the ability to chat "between the units of the programming on our expedition. commonly used for the delivery of EMS and fire, and other information, so you will not be binding on the radio broadcast. You never know when an officer has to ask for help.
Make sure that the NYPD played solitaire.

The boundaries that we can chat between units and dispatch. It's just a bar, but does not look like any commercial chat / instant messaging program.

I know you can enter Yahoo messenger vehicle in Pinellas County SO ... I spoke with a friend of mine while on patrol.
If the team (MDT) have Internet access, then sure.
We have a feature of our multidisciplinary teams that allow us to "chat" with other officers, shipping and other departments of the same system. It can always accessible from the leaders to stop playing around on this issue. We use it to "silence ".... Not want to hear the sea off public calls on a scanner.
